Hello everyone ❤ Wondering what am I going to speak to you about Beads & Cords today? Well. The beads and cords that you see in the post title are the basic essential materials that are used to make these bags. This post is brought to you in collaboration with 'Mousumi's Creations' today. The bags are handmade by Mousumi Sengupta, an entrepreneur, who learned the artwork of beads and cords years ago. She is based in Kolkata and is a housewife. Initially, she was hesitant to even give it a try. Her family, who supports her in every aspect, has been very encouraging always. All her bags, purses, vanities and many accessories that you can see, are handmade. The beads and cords that you see are exclusively picked by her from the Kolkata Vendors who deal in various shapes and sizes of Beads and Cord material. She believes in delivering her best to her customers and also thinks that, it is important to be innovative. She usually takes 10 - 15 days to complete her orders a...

SOME MORE COLORS!

Image
Hi girls!❤ As we all know that Bengali new year has just passed few days ago and we just cannot think of sitting idle without celebrating it. An event 'Sfuling Annual Programme 2K16' was organised in GanaBhavan Auditorium at Hooghly District, Calcutta on Saturday the 23rd, where participants from different places rehearse for months and perform that day. My sister-in-law Sristi Banerjee (in the middle) was also a part of that programme, along with Srimayee Chatterjee (Left) and Tiasha Saha (Right) who were all decked up in South-Cotton Sarees which I find, super gorgeous. The golden borders, steal the show. And to add a little spice, if you wear it with the correct pleats, you can be a star!! They chose South Cottons for the opening performance. Their makeup has been done by me. The base was super heavy because it was a stage performance and the look required neatness and the base had to be flawless. The eyes had to be dark but vibrant. I used goldens, bronze and black for t...

WHAT'S INSIDE MY HANDBAG?

I have my entire world inside my handbag. Yes ! The entire world ! And I am sure all women will agree to this. Today I am going to tell you about the things which I usually carry in my handbag. I know and understand how much important it is for women, to take care and pamper herself. We have so much of love for touch-ups, a lipstick and winged eyes, don't we? Women nowadays are busy bees, but still they manage to go strong even after taking care of all the household chores, work, family, kids. I personally love women who are particular about everything, is disciplined and also takes very good care of herself. I feel, if you can take care of your family, with so much care and dedication, you can take care of yourself too. For that, she has to have all her necessary secret ingredients that she must be needing for her everyday use. My friends who know me personally also know how badly I love makeup. I can survive without my cell phone for a day, but not without makeup. I always c...

TURNING 25 !

Image
25th Birthday was really special as this was my first birthday celebration at my in-laws. Trust me, turning older is the new 'younger'. You never get tired of celebrating, living and exploring. And all you want to do now, is enjoy some more ! So my in-laws surprised me with this cute little Dark Chocolate Cherry cake from Mio Amore. The taste was heaven! Sister-in-law surprised me with chocolates and gifts that were kept hidden in my room. She gave me clues to find them. The day started with a movie date with my friends and family. Summers in Bengal is disastrous and you just cannot plan anything in the morning, unless you are working or you have some other important work. The cotton kurti that you see me here wearing, is super comfortable and long in length. Its trendy and I paired it up with green leggings. You can pair it up with yellow bottoms too! The makeup is pretty simple. Dabbed a little Lakme Face Soufflé followed by Lakme Absolute Skin Concealer in the shade 03 M...

OF STONES AND BEADS !

Image
Hello everyone! Back after a day, full of work, shopping and other things as it was a Sunday. A lot of whispers have been going on in the house since morning and I know my husband's upto something as tomorrow I'll be celebrating my 25th Birthday! Yes - another year 'Younger'! I think I love surprises anytime. If that makes one happy, why not do it often. Heeeehaaaa 😀 My obsession with colours and makeup never ends - not at any point. I was recently travelling as I had to attend a family wedding in Assam, I have already mentioned that in my previous post. I have always loved makeup and I also love how it works as a weakness for me. Sarees have been my favourite clothing  ever since I have learnt to drape it. I think Indian women is in their best when they drape this 6-yard beauty. It is nothing but 'Pure Elegance'. It can make anyone attractive - the wise trick is to drape beautifully. The saree that I am wearing here is a Zardozi Embroidery Saree....

TRAVEL DIARIES

Image
It was a family wedding in the first week of March and I flew up to Guwahati to attend that. The reception was back again in Durgapur, West Bengal - 4 hours from the giant metro city! Durgapur showed me its beauty like no other place did before - the lush green trees, open fields, big bungalows, cars parked in place, the silence, greenery, children playing and screaming at the top of their voices and many more. Pure bliss ! Coming back to this look. I always ensure that I wear comfy clothes when travelling and going for very less accessories. The earring that i am wearing here is picked from the street vendors of Kolkata. You just cannot give up shopping when you are in this city! The Kurti is borrowed from my Sister-In-Law. We always borrow each others clothes and love wearing them alternatively. The pink stole is picked from the busiest streets of Guwahati - Fancy Bazaar. I wear glasses but that's not often. Trying to make a habit but, Ok, I will, I promise! 😁 I paired this...

GO TRADITIONAL 2

Image
Its been a while since I posted my last look. So, today I thought I would post a different look and explain in detail, all the nitty-gritty of it. 'Some people collect stamps, coins - I collect Lipsticks!' - that's what I say to people when they furrow their brow and struggle to understand my love for all things cosmetics. On the surface, my amazement and passion for the world of makeup is my hobby and that knows no bounds. It is something that I love to soak knowledge about, watch YouTube videos and tutorials, purchase things and is such an activity that gives me immense joy from all the aspects. In my previous post, I had spoken about smokey eyes and how well you can pair it up on all occasions. I have also mentioned the products that has been used there. Here today, I will tell you in detail about the procedure of this look that you can see below. The 6-yard beauty that you can see here is a gift from a very dear friend, recently. It has all the colours on the bo...
