The Timeless Classic.

Hello all!

It has been a crazy week so far as I have been writing lots of posts and preparing the contents of it for hours at night. I have recently been writing on food, some traditional Indian clothing and other things. But, I was wondering if I could write on statement earrings that, many of us do not prefer wearing them even now. There are many Indian women, who still thinks that they aren't capable enough to look good where the reality is, they are in their best versions, when I see them in traditionals and other statement accessories.

Talking about accessories and Indian Jewellery, the Hyderabadi Nizams and the Mughals have been well known for their artistic designs, unique artisans, their meenakari work and their commendable effort. Thanks to History ! Many neckpieces and earrings have created a well known place in the books of Indian History and other articles. One such piece is the very popular 'Chaandbaalis' - as we all call it.

Chaandbaalis are originated from Rajasthan, India in and around the 19th Century. The earrings are in the form of two crescent moons that are set within each other, which are either studded with diamonds and rubies within geometric outlines. It is although an oldie, but I swear on its designs and the artwork, Chaandbaalis can proudly be appointed and paired up with any Indian clothing. Trust me, any Indian clothing. It is Bollywood's go-to style for any occassion. The designs, as mentioned before, has been originated from the Hyderabadi Nizams and the Mughal Era. It comes in different styles but is usually designed with a jewelled center with delicate stones or pearl hangings. Although quiet traditional in design, the versatility of Chaandbaalis lends itself to be worn with Sarees, Anarkalis or evening gowns and therefore, its worth remains in heavy rotations for years and decades to come.

Earrings have enjoyed a long history of being used as an adornment, cultural identification and a sign of wealth and prosperity for thousands of years, dating back to 2500 B.C. According to legends, evil spirits were thought to be able to enter the bodies through any of its openings and take a good control. The first ever, pair of earrings were worn to bar away those spirits. Although, the styles and popularity have fluctuated through time and years, based on economic conditions, fashion, style influences and societal factors, they have always remained an important part of fashion.

Now, in this date, I am sure 70% of the Female World Population wants to adorn themselves into accessories and jewelleries of different sizes and patterns but minimal ad ons. They want to experiment more and take all the risks possible, with their look. The trick is to carry it well, I feel. I think it is very courageous of one, to experiment what you like because at the end, it is all about the statement that you create and make!

This post is for all the accessory lovers out there, who knows how to dazzle their evenings with these gorgeous pairs because they know already, that accessories enhances a woman's beauty to the core. Women who love to go with minimal aacessories can also go for Chaandbaalis like these and pair it up with a gorgeous Lehenga Saree, Anarkali or even a Palazzo with a long gorgeous Kurti.

Style Tip: Try to pair it up with your favourite saree, a sleeveless high neck blouse and your Chaandbaalis. Now you know how to raise mercury levels, I trust you all ! 😉
