My Color Inspiration!

It has been three years of my journey with 'Makeover Madness - Its about what suits You.' You must be wondering what that is and how it has worked as an inspiration for me. I would love to tell you how.

Makeover Madness is basically, a facebook group that concentrates mainly on cultivating the progress of a woman, by guiding one, through a 'Makeover Session' and letting her identify the confidence in her and to make her aware, how flawless and beautiful she is naturally, doesn't matter if she already has flaws, but every woman is beautiful in their own ways. Sreenanda Shankar is the Founder of Makeover Madness, a Danseause, a Makeover Consultant and an Actor of the brilliant bengali short film, The Third Eye. Sreenanda has always had the passion to give women makeovers, apart from dancing like mother, Tanushree Shankar. She has a foundation course in Makeup in her kitty, from London which was pursued way back in 2007. Most women, she says, are insecure about their looks. She knew how it felt to be distincted from the rest, as she has been dealing with weight issues, initially. She has observed the change in herself when she started taking care of it and it is only then, that she realised, there are countless women who needed help to discover and enhance their beauty. And this is how Makeover Madness happened. She started sharing easily achievable looks with some easy makeup tricks that can be pulled off easily by most women which would suit most Indian skin tones.
She adds that, there are many women who fails to understand how beautiful they are. There are many who do not even know the difference between daily makeup and makeup for ramps, shoots, stage shows, theatres and many such events. For example, you cannot pair your black bold smokeys and red lips to work but you can easily carry it off, for a glam evening look. The difference lies there ! ☺

Makeover Madness also believes in delivering quality posts that provokes women to think positive, encourage each other and be confident enough, because these three are the keys to grow together. The team makes an effort to post short quotes, looks, animal adoptions and news which helps masses, everyday. Sreenanda believes that, even if the bunch has all the positive vibe in it, a group can never grow together because if there is a presence of one negative vibe, that can spoil things each time. She often shares posts that boosts the confidence of women to try and have fun with the lifestyle that one lives in and their individual personalities. The facebook giant now has over 16K + members and Sreenanda has given makeovers to approximately 70 women, Or I guess even more than that.

Makeover Madness has been a good fortune in my life. Sharing my personal experience, I recollect memories 3 years ago where I still imagine myself in a simple look, where there was not any makeup - not even a single trace of it! It is not that I felt dull or despondent, I never felt that way. But, I always had the craving to learn more and experiment myself with colors, and that is how one knows, what suits her. They say, that makeup raises confidence - and I never believed that afore. Now, when I see myself pursuing happy classes with Makeover Madness, after 3 years, I can already see myself to have moulded up into a more matured, courageous and bold enough to try anything and a sweet tooth to try various shades and brands.

Talking about shades and brands, I would like to write some more about it. Sreenanda Shankar, the founder of Makeover Madness, is a magic personality. Her makeup brushes are her magic wands, that can create anything and turn anyone gorgeous! She stresses on the theory when she says that, to achieve a basic daily makeup look, it is important for one to always concentrate more on the technique, skin type, face shape and the procedure of the makeup. Sreenanda shares step-by-step picture tutorial of the makeup and also mentions that, for daily makeup, brands and shades do not really play a major role. It is all in the procedure and the right use of brushes that plays the trick. One can always experiment with colors and shades of different palettes, but you should never go wrong with the technique of the color application. That will refrain one, from making the look fall into place.

Talking about brands, I have been an avid follower of Makeover Madness and I have observed Sreenanda using products from Anastasia Beverly Hills, Urban Decay, MAC, Lime Crime, to name some. Although, she never makes any member who goes for a Makeover or her regular members of the group, to apply the same brand or blindly follow her. A makeup lover will always stick to the technique, whether it is the choice of colors or the correct use of brushes, and would also understand what suits her and what not. It is always important to study the face shape, lifestyle and personality, her choice of colors and shades, preferences. Makeover Madness doesn't allow anyone to share links that promotes sales - be it anything, and also makes a point that the members stick to only English language for communication, as it has members from all over the world.

My 3-year old journey has been magical as I have seen Sreenanda touching lives of many women. To allow them showcase their looks and experiments with colors, Makeover Madness opens posting options for members only on Saturdays. It gives a choice to women who has the urge to learn makeup and achieve a basic look. Even a woman who has no knowledge about makeup can also start their journey with Makeover Madness. I can assure you all, that not a single individual will regret. To help her updates and looks reach a bigger audience, Sreenanda has recently started writing blog posts on her Blog. She also has her Makeover Madness YouTube channel where she posts video tutorials and inspires masses.
